BT2 is to close on Grafton street and the store is to be replaced with Victoria's Secret next January. Shudder. Just what we need, another over hyped American brand which has too much pink in it.
Apparently the issue with BT2 was that the two stores are just 'too close together.' Which to be fair is true as you can throw a stone out of starbucks and into the window of Brown Thomas.

It is true that the two stores are very close together though.
Rumor has it that rent was a bit too high as well. Not shocked given the cost of rents on Grafton Street. I think it makes more sense for them to be in the same store. I love BT but never shopped in BT2. I used to go there for Illamasqua. But since they close down, I never really went into BT2 other then to browse. I did work in the BT Galway version of their jeans department years later and it was awesome. The jeans selection was, not the constant folding of denims.
If you want to loose your mind.....fold denims.
In good news though : all retail jobs are safe as the stores will simple move to the main store. However, I have to ask, with the proposed new bar going in to Brown Thomas and all the new labels, where are they going to put all these new brands?
Are existing BT brands going to be removed?
