The Knightsbridge Lounge

The Knightsbridge Lounge (6)

So it would appear that since moving down to London, all I do is taxi hop from restaurant, to bar to club. Contrary to popular belief, I do actually work, however I'm not going to be convincing anyone soon, as I had a very lady of leisure style day again. Well it was a Saturday.

Me and Caroline had been trying to plan a very special afternoon tea (I'm too excited, as hint hint, it's my ultimate afternoon tea dream) however we are struggling to get booked in. Nobodies like us can't waiver the reservation list. Dayum. So in the mean time we decided to perk up our spirits and take afternoon tea at The Knightsbridge Lounge.

The Distinctly Knightsbridge Afternoon Tea is apparently influenced by the gardens of Hyde Park- think salmon from the Serpentine, that sort of thing.

To add a twist to tradition afternoon tea, we started with a little quiche of red king crab thermidor with seaweed butter (I wonder if the crab came from the Serpentine eh?).

Usually we were served our tea almost like a tradition meal with courses.

I opted for the Jasmine Pearl tea as I really liked it when I went to Crewe Hall. I said at the time I was going to buy some, but it's never quite the same in your chipped Mr Men mug is it?

Thankfully out came the tradition stand, that makes me heart skip every time. There is just something so comforting about taking quintessential British afternoon tea. Although this isn't quite what Lady Grantham would have had...

Marshmallow, Turkish delight and nougat lollipops?! Lady Grantham would defiantly have a thing or too to say about those!

The elderflower jelly and meringue cup was pretty fabulous. A shot of apple cider with blackberry jelly topped with meringue. Delicious to say the least.

The tropical chocolate mousse waffle cone wasn't bad either. Reminded me of summer, although the weather soon killed that feeling.

But it was the The Serpentine Swan Petit Chou that really made my heart melt. Just look at it. It was nearly too god to eat. I said nearly...

OK, so I know I said it was relaxed and cosy room, but it is Knightsbridge after all?
