Hello and welcome to a quick recap of the weekend! Friday was my birthday. I got a lot of card, texts, messages and nice birthday wishes. Thanks to all of you who left birthday wish comments on my last blog post.
I got a book I had been wanting, some gift cards...
...and these cute and delicious cupcakes.
One of my favorite things was this card I got from my daughter's family, with cute messages from my grandchildren.
I also received these fun notebooks in the mail. They weren't a birthday gift, but a prize I won in a contest over at Buttercup's Blog, Buttercup Counts her Blessing.
Saturday, after running errands and doing chores in the morning, we decided to go to a nearby canyon to hike among the beautiful fall leaves. It was an enjoyable family afternoon.
Sunday morning we went back to church in person. We will now be having regular services every Sunday at 9 a.m..
Sunday brought cool, cloudy weather and we had some rain in the morning.
After church and lunch, Charly and I took a walk.
I did some indexing of records from 1941 and 1950 (church census and voting records), then made pork chops, scalloped potatoes and cheese biscuits for dinner.
After dinner, Josh and I went to a nearby town where I lived as a teenager and we walked. It was a lovely evening. This was a view of the sunset from the mountainside where we walked.
Looking forward to the coming week - these are the books I am reading. One is fiction and one is non-fiction - both excellent.
We are expecting our mail-in ballots to arrive this week. We will mark them and immediately hand carry them to our county clerk's office. This election is so very important.
